Our Impact

Recycled Textiles

We use Recycled Polyester (RePET) to manufacture all our products that require fabric. This polyester is made from certified post-consumer recycled plastic bottles and other pre-consumer waste. This offsets the use of new petroleum, emits fewer greenhouse gases, and uses much less energy.
or less water and much less energy.
We also use recycled nylon. This recycled nylon thread is made by recycling pre-consumer industrial waste, also offsetting the use of petroleum.

Our Impact

Other Materials

The “Water Hyacinth” or “Water Lilac” flower is another of the materials we use to make some of Ozeano Swimwear accessories.
Water hyacinth is an aquatic plant found in rivers, lakes, and reservoirs. They are so numerous and grow so rapidly that, under the right conditions, they can double their reproduction in just five days. They are considered harmful plants due to their rapid reproduction and are also included on the list of the 100 most harmful invasive alien species in the world. For all these reasons, using them to make other materials is beneficial to the environment.
With the fiber from this plant, we make visors, purses, hats, among others.

Our Impact

Color Process

To give color to our fabric, we use the sublimation and textile printing process, which does not use water.

Unlike textile dyeing, which is highly polluting due to the amount of waste it generates, these types of prints do not release color.

Our Allies

We carefully select our suppliers and are proud to work with companies that employ sustainable practices. These companies, in turn, work with factories certified for consumer safety and sustainable production processes, such as the use of natural gas for dyeing, wastewater recycling, and antibacterial and anti-allergenic finishes for all types and the use of fibers made from recycled materials.
They have various in-house practices where they reuse fabric scraps to tie bolts, use recycled cardboard, and work with companies that use electric semi-trailers, among others.
All Ozeano Swimwear products are manufactured in the Dominican Republic, utilizing diverse local workshops and artisan communities in various regions of the country. We ensure long-standing relationships with our suppliers to guarantee quality and, above all, to maintain the feeling of family.
